Section Signing - Possible in Word?
I have a word document that is divided into sections
Is it possible to sign with a different signer on each section?
If so, Can you please explain how to do that?
Hi Richard ,
Yes secional signing is possible in word . infact signing sections is available for Word documents only, there is no such thing as "section in "excel" or PDF.
PDF signatures are always the whole document, in excel, you can chose to sign single worksheet or specific cell range.
You can configure sectional signing in the following way :
First , configure your word to show section numbers ( all my screenshots are office 2007 but older versions are the same).
Right click the lower status bar and toggle the "section" option:
Then , break the document to sections according to your requirements.
You can have each page as a new section, or few sections on the same page.
Then, when you set the signature filed, right click it, go to "scope of signature" , select the "section number" radio button and type the section number you want the signature refer to.
If you have automatically updated data like header/footer , you might want to remove the "field codes" checkbox.
now insert the empty signature fields in the relevant sections using the add in tab in word , right click on the signature fields and go to scope of signature > in the scope options insert the relevant section number .
Richard i hope this answers your question
Hello I'm trying to test it, using trial version of CoSign with Word2010. I created sections, made them visible etc. But when I insert a signature field and right-click on it I see no option "scope of signature". Can someone help?
