Through this illuminating research, AIIM explores the benefits that real-world organizations have obtained from implementing digital signatures. The study, titled "Digital Signatures for Document Workflow and SharePoint" reports on the needs, benefits and payback periods experienced by these organizations, and compares them to the expectations of organizations that haven’t yet implemented digital signatures.
Findings from this research include:
- In 63% of organizations without digital signature systems, more than half of the process documents that are printed are
done so solely for obtaining signatures.
- Speeding up approval processes and saving staff time are considered to be the biggest benefits by those who have implemented a digital signature solution.
- For 40% of non-users, half or more of their electronic document workflows are interrupted by the need for physical sign offs. For 23% of non-users, this results in a week or more of process delay on average.
