CoSign Digital Signatures Now Supports Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Drug Information Association Conference (DIA) - Atlanta, GA, 19 June, 2007

ARX, Inc. (Algorithmic Research), a leading global provider of standards-based digital signatures (electronic signatures) and information-assurance solutions, has announced the availability of its CoSign® v4 digital-signature solution with support for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS).

"CoSign’s ability to cost-effectively deploy a standards-based digital signature, combined with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server’s Web interface, enables multiple architectures to serve dispersed and mobile collaborating in life sciences organizations," says Paul Mattes, U.S. life sciences industry solutions director, Microsoft Corp.

CoSign is an integrated solution that enables users to digitally sign documents using standard digital signatures within the Microsoft Office System (2000, 2003 and 2007), Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, MOSS 2003 and MOSS 2007, Microsoft Office InfoPath and Microsoft Office Outlook.

Using CoSign digital signatures, Microsoft customers may replace handwritten signatures, sealing documents with legally-binding signatures as well as saving on costs and time associated with paper-based processes.

Microsoft partners providing MOSS business solutions in industries such as life sciences and healthcare have began developing and deploying integrated solutions with ARX’s CoSign system.

"The integrated product offering enables life-science organizations operating in regulated environments to manage processes and compliance with a unified solution while reducing the cost and complexity of compliance," said Zikria Syed, CEO of Microsoft Gold Partner, NextDocs.

"Using CoSign’s COM object or Web-Service API has enabled us to quickly build out digital signature solutions for MOSS 2007 for regulated applications for a variety of biopharmaceutical companies, contract service organizations, and healthcare providers."

According to Syed, the integrated offering enables the NextDocs document-management solution to manage and automate SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and work-instruction approvals, training requirements associated with SOPs, and project specific processes related to GxP, computer system validation, FDA and vendor audits. NextDocs recently delivered a new solution specific to clinical-trial Monitor Trip Reports.

"With CoSign v4, signing and sealing documents created within Microsoft Office and SharePoint Server 2007 immediately expedites business processes for any organization, and assists them to comply with industry regulations." said John Marchioni, Vice President of Business Development, Americas, at ARX.
