CoSign digital signatures seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Office Excel.
Installing CoSign automatically adds a digital signature toolbar appears in the menu.
To sign this balance sheet, we right-click on the signature field, and we select Sign.
The balance sheet has now been signed and sealed.
CoSign allows us to confirm the signed section of the spreadsheet.
To demonstrate this, let’s right-click on the signature and select Show Signed Area.
Now the signed area is clearly highlighted.
If we were to modify a cell outside of the signed area, it would not affect the signature.
Once we make the change, we can check to see if the signature is still valid.
Once again, we simply right-click on the signature and select Validate.
And we can see that the signature is still valid, because the changes were made outside of the signed area.
What if someone were to make a change within the signed area?
To show how a signature is invalidated, we will start by modifying a cell within the signed area.
Once the cell is modified, we will right-click on the signature and select Validate.
Because we made a change to the highlighted area, the signature is no longer valid.
