Nintex Workflows have empowered information workers across the globe to collaborate, innovate and compete. CoSign® digital signature capabilities are now offered within Nintex Workflow, enabling you to automate signature-driven processes and affordably complete your investment in workflow automation.
The CoSign digital signature extension for Nintex Workflow (version agnostic) provides a ‘Request Signature’ action/task under the Workflow Actions menu. This enables users to add a signature authorization point within a customized workflow in a simple drag-and-drop fashion. A workflow that contains a CoSign digital signature component notifies the intended signer of a new task, and enables that signer to add his or her standard CoSign signature and reason for signing to the document. CoSign digital signatures are compatible with all major document types, including PDF, Microsoft® Word, Excel®, InfoPath®, and Adobe® Reader®. With CoSign digital signature capability, Nintex users avoid the need to reintroduce paper into the workflow for obtaining signature approvals, while also enhancing collaboration and expediting processes.

CoSign Completes Nintex Workflow and SharePoint Solutions
CoSign is the leading digital signature solution among SharePoint® users. It is centralized and web-based, enabling users to access digital signature functionality via a web browser for signing such data as SharePoint List items, and files saved in SharePoint Document Libraries. A standard SharePoint add-on developed with WSS3.0 SDK, CoSign is compatible with both WSS3.0 and MOSS environments.
Some of CoSign’s unique features include:
- PDF signing within SharePoint. CoSign is the only solution that enables signing PDF and PDF/A documents from within a SharePoint environment.
- Sequential approval processes. CoSign enables multiple signatures to be placed on a document (one after the other) while ensuring document integrity.
- Compliance. CoSign digital signatures enable compliance with standards of the most tightly regulated industries and geographies. Read more about how CoSign digital signatures enable compliance and are legally enforceable.
- Authorized signer control. CoSign leverages your existing user management systems (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory®, Oracle OID/OVD, IBM Tivoli, etc.), allowing your organization to control signer privileges via pre-existing systems and policies for user management and authentication. The organization’s policies for adding and removing employees are securely translated by CoSign for management of signature privileges.
- Native support for Microsoft Office and InfoPath out-of-the-box. CoSign is the only solution that provides backward compatible signatures across different versions of Microsoft Word and Excel including Office XP/2003/2007/2010. Furthermore, CoSign provides signature rules required by regulated markets, as well as reason-code management, sectional and interdependent signatures, configurable signature blocks, and graphic-signature image management.
- Native support for Adobe Reader and Acrobat out-of-the-box. CoSign allows seamless signing of PDF and PDF/A documents under Adobe versions 6/7/8/9+, without the need for Adobe application plug-ins.
- Microsoft infrastructure. CoSign provides out-of-the-box integration with native Active Directory (AD, AD LDS); out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Windows Kerberos authentication; support for various MS OS platforms, including 64bit OS. In addition, CoSign is 100% Microsoft .NET ready (both the solution and the SDK), and CoSign has a management snap-in for MMC.
