Technical Support
Allan, using the Graphical Signature Management application, you can create and manage graphical signatures that are stored in your CoSign user database as graphical objects, or images that are located on your local hard disk (in cases where the image files are too large to be uploaded to the CoSign appliance).
Below are instructions for creating an image-based graphical signature, creating a text-based graphical signature, and viewing/selecting a graphical signature.
Creating an Image-based Graphical Signature
You may either create an image file, or upload an existing image file to CoSign.
To create an image file:
- Open the CoSign Control Panel by clicking Start > Programs > ARX CoSign > CoSign Control Panel
- To add graphical signatures, choose the Graphical Signatures icon from the control panel (Figure 1).

Figure 1 - In the Graphical Signature Management application, click “+New Signature…”
- Enter a Signature name, and select the Image button. Then, click Create.
- Select an image capturing technique from the list that appears.

Figure 2
- Topaz or ePad: Use this when entering the graphical signature using a signature capture pad. If using a signature capture device that does not have an LCD display, the signature will only be visible on the PC screen.
- Tablet PC/Mouse: Use this when entering the graphical signature using a tablet PC or a regular PC with a mouse. Note: Using a PC and mouse is only possible with Vista or Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010.
6. After capturing the graphical signature, click Done. The graphical signature you created is added into CoSign. To restart the capture, click Clear.
To upload an image file:
- In the Graphical Signature Management application, click “+New Signature…”
- Enter a Signature name, and select the Image button. Then, click Upload.
- In the window that appears, select the desired image file. The following file types are supported: monochrome bmp, multicolor bmp, or jpg.
Note: If the size of the selected image is larger than the maximum permitted size, the image size is automatically reduced. A window will appear asking whether to upload the reduced image size.

Figure 3 - Click OK.
Creating an Text-based Graphical Signature
- In the Graphical Signature Management application, click “+New Signature…”
- Enter a Signature name, and select the Text only button.

Figure 4 - Click Font. A Font dialog box appears.

Figure 5 - In the Font dialog box, specify the appearance of the graphical signature text (font, size, color, etc.).
- Click OK.
- Using your keyboard, enter the text for the graphical signature. The signature is displayed in the Edit Signature dialog box.
- Click Save.
Viewing/selecting a graphical signature
- Open the CoSign Control Panel (Start > Programs > ARX CoSign > CoSign Control Panel).
- Click Graphical Signature. The Graphical Signatures Viewer opens.
- Select a signature from the drop-down menu at the top of the window. The graphical signature appears. Note: You may optionally scroll through available signatures using the arrows at the bottom of the window.
- To edit the signature, click Edit Signature. You may perform the following functions:
- Signature name: Specify the name for the edited graphical signature.
- Image/Tex only: Specify whether the graphical signature is based on an image or text.
- Used for: Specify the type of graphical signature. Note: In CoSign version 5.4 and later, only one logo is allowed per user.
- Delete this signature: Delete the graphical signature.
