Microsoft SharePoint Workflow Demo

Digital Signatures with Microsoft SharePoint Workflow

Welcome to CoSign Digital Signature demo with Microsoft Office SharePoint.

CoSign enables users to quickly and easily add digital signatures to their Microsoft Office SharePoint environment.
To demonstrate, we will follow John as he creates and digitally signs a Word document and initiates the SharePoint workflow process to route the document for approvals and signatures.
In the first step, John begins by creating a new document from an existing template.  Once he selects his template, Microsoft Word opens.  John completes the form.  He saves the document.  And he checks the document into SharePoint.  After inserting his comments, John is ready for the second step – signing the document. He right-clicks on the signature field and selects Sign.
John’s signature appears in the first signature field. The Signatures windows lists the signatures collected on the document as well as any pending signature requests.
Before initiating the workflow, John can verify that SharePoint knows whose signature is required next. He does this by right-clicking on the next signature field. He selects Signature Setup.
The CoSign Signature Setup box includes the email address of the next signer. In the third step, John initiates the workflow process for collecting signatures. The required signatures are indicated within this window. John clicks the Start button to confirm and initiate the workflow process. The workflow initiates an email to Julia, notifying her that a form awaits her signature. Julia logs into SharePoint, and she begins the forth step of signing the document. In the Workflow Tasks page, Julia selects the Document Requires Your Signature link. Julia opens the appropriate document. And because SharePoint knows which signature field Julia is required to sign through the workflow settings, Julia simply clicks the Sign button to add her signature to the document. Julia’s signature appears in the second signature field, and the document may now be routed to James McCain for the final signature.
