CoSign Digital Signatures for Microsoft SharePoint 2010
Welcome to CoSign Digital Signature demo for Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
CoSign is the only digital signature solution that seamlessly integrates with Microsoft SharePoint, enabling users to approve, agree, accept, and audit legally enforceable documents that are centrally located on the SharePoint server.
Jim Miller is a Clinical Research Associate.
Jim visits a clinical site and must complete his Site Monitoring Trip Report.
He creates a new Trip Report within SharePoint.
After clicking on Create a new Trip Report, the Trip Report template opens.
Jim completes the report and uploads his Trip Report into the SharePoint Library.
The SharePoint workflow automatically converts the Trip Report document to PDF and starts the signature-based approval process.
Jim can click on the Trip Report link to review the document prior to signing it.
Jim is able to access and sign the document within the SharePoint environment, without checking it out or having any signature software installed locally on his PC.
Jim enters his reason for signing and password and then clicks Sign.
Once Jim has signed the document, a new task is automatically created for the next person whose signature approval is required.
Sarah Reynolds, the Project Manager, receives an email to alert her to the new task requiring her approval.
She opens her SharePoint Tasks List.
The task requires her to review and approve the Trip Report.
She clicks the link to sign.
When Sarah clicks on the document, the Trip Report opens and she can view and verify Jim’s digital signature.
Sarah enters her reason for signing and her password, and then clicks Sign.
Sarah’s task is complete. The document may be sent to the originator, archived, or sent to the client (sponsor).
In the Trip Reports Directory, Sarah can see that Jim’s Trip Report has 2 signatures that are both valid, and that the workflow of the report is complete.
Sarah may open the document to view the signed Trip Report.
The completed report has both Jim and Sarah’s digital signatures.
Anyone at any time in the future may open this document, examine the contents and verify the signatures using standard Adobe Reader.
By right-clicking on a signature and selecting Validate Signature, we see that the signature is valid, and the content has not been modified since the signature was applied.
CoSign extends the SharePoint document menu with three digital signature options – Sign with CoSign, Verify Signatures, and Review Signatures.
In addition to viewing the digital signature details inside of the PDF and from the SharePoint library list, details of the digital signatures can also be viewed by clicking Review Signatures from the pull down menu without having to open or check out the PDF.
Digital Signatures provide proof of the Three I’s: Document Integrity, Signer Identity, and Intent.
