ARX Teams with iBIZ to Deliver Security for 3-D Secure Online Payment Solution

ARX today announced that PrivateServer, its Hardware Security Module (HSM) has been integrated with IBIZ Software’s CommerSafe ACS, a 3-D Secure compliant solution to provide issuing banks, processors, payment card companies and online merchants with an enhanced online authentication infrastructure that complies with the 3-D Secure protocol. Programs aimed at reducing Internet fraud, like Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode, employ the 3-D Secure protocol. ARX’s HSM is renown for its secure, FIPS validated, high-performance and cost-effective benefits. iBIZ chose to integrate its CommerSafe ACS server with ARX's PrivateServer HSM in order to provide enhanced security features such as protected key storage and digital signature capabilities to its online payment solution. CommerSafe ACS together with PrivateServer HSM is already deployed at a major European issuing bank in a live trial.

As specified by Visa and Mastercard, Internet consumers will be required to enter identification information when enrolling with the issuer’s 3-D Secure program. ARX’s PrivateServer HSM is used to protect this personal information from fraudulent eavesdroppers and to ensure that the person making subsequent transactions is indeed the authorized user, significantly reducing the possibility of fraudulent eCommerce transactions. To complete the transaction, the integrated iBIZ and ARX solution also offers the ability to digitally sign the online transaction, thereby eliminating the possibility of repudiation of the electronic purchase by the consumer.

CommerSafe ACS allows payment card issuers to fully authenticate their cardholders in real-time, while the cardholder is making a purchase online. This dynamic interaction between the cardholder and his issuing bank greatly enhances the security of the online payment process and consequently enhances the cardholder experience, thereby increasing cardholder loyalty to their issuer. CommerSafe ACS goes beyond the call of 3-D Secure by including components for online mass-enrollment of cardholders, a Cardholder Manager and a Permissions Module, enabling issuers to offer cardholders extra functionality and control over their own cards enrolled in the program.
