ARX, a leading provider of digital signatures and data security solutions, today announced a development agreement with STMicroelectronics, a global independent semiconductor company and a leader in developing and delivering semiconductor ICs and solutions. This agreement enables ST and ARX to provide secure personalization and management of EMV chip cards.
STMicroelectronics and ARX have integrated ‘PrivateServer’, ARX’s highly secure (FIPS Validated) Host Security Module (HSM) solution, with ‘Matrix’, ST’s new generation smart card management software. The Integration secures the entire life-cycle of Prisma-based payment & ID cards, including the card personalization process, card issuance, card maintenance and post-issuance of applications.
Integrating 'PrivateServer' with ST’s ‘Matrix’ enables ARX to enhance its offerings by providing a total solution for EMV personalization and card life-cycle management. The ‘PrivateServer’ HSM also supports complimentary solutions such as EMV authorization; 3-D Secure VISA authenticated Payment Program and secure messaging and transactions.
ST customers and partners benefit from PrivateServer’s high-speed cryptographic services and easy to integrate HSM solution. With ‘PrivateServer’, ST customers can now enjoy Prisma’s reliable and secure credit and debit card processing and management system, that fully complies with the latest Visa and MasterCard security protocols for securing magnetic pass and EMV chip card transactions. The joint product proposition also supports multi-application solutions such as PKI cards, electronic wallets and cash cards.
