Algorithmic Research (ARX), a leading worldwide provider of digital signatures and data-security solutions, has announced the release of PrivateServer version 4.
PrivateServer is a cost-effective, secure, network-attached HSM that provides cryptographic services in a wide range of environments and application such as EMV, Visa 3-D Secure, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), PIN verification (PVV, CVV), transaction signing, hashing, and encrypting.
PrivateServer version 4 is based on new hardware components that maximize the price / performance ratio and improved reliability. New hardware components include a new Processor and a 1GB network interface.
Among the new security features are a new tamper-evident device; and a new smartcard reader. The reader allows users to take advantage of ARX’s PrivateCard solution to authenticate user logins.
Additional improvements include the addition of new cryptographic algorithms such as AES 128,192 and 256; SHA 256, SHA 512 hash mechanisms; as well as new signature and verification mechanisms.
PrivateServer is currently FIPS 140-1 level 3 validated, and is currently in the final stages of process of achieving the new NIST FIPS 140-2 level 3 Certification. This new certification defines the security requirements that must be satisfied by a cryptographic module used in a security system protecting unclassified information within IT systems.
"FIPS 140-2 level 3 Certification will ensure PrivateServer 4.0 meets the standards put in place by the financial community as well as various governmental offices," says Gadi Aharoni, CEO, ARX.
ARX’s PrivateServer HSM is already in use in financial applications worldwide, including Setefi of the Intesa Banking Group, Polcard, Cetrel, G&D Spain, Volvofinans, Bank haPoalim, Standard Charter Bank, SIBS, LeumiCard and Getronics, among others. |
