Electronic Signatures Enable MAXIMUS to Sign I-9 Forms Online

Pleasant Hill, CA - 13 September, 2006

Algorithmic Research (ARX), a leading worldwide provider of electronic signatures and data security solutions, has installed its CoSign® electronic signature solution at the I-9 and Workforce Management Division of leading government services provider, MAXIMUS.

With CoSign for Web Applications’ integrated digital signature solution, MAXIMUS now provides a fully electronic web portal for I-9 processing and signing; replacing their manual, paper driven, phone, fax, and priority mailing services in line with Public Law 108-390.

Issued by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the law requires all employers to verify the legality of all employees who work in the US through the completion of a federal Form I-9. Signed into law in December 2004 by the US Congress, it allows and encourages the use of electronic signatures and records for Form I-9s. By taking advantage of this new legislation, MAXIMUS found an opportunity to decrease the processing time and cost for their customers, while driving customer satisfaction.

"The I-9 forms are now completed online and electronically signed by both the employee (new hire) and the employer (client manager) using standard electronic signatures. In addition to the cost and time savings for MAXIMUS and our clients, this solution gives us a competitive advantage in our increasingly competitive marketplace" says Nancy Kim, Vice President, MAXIMUS.

"MAXIMUS demonstrates the strength and simplicity of the CoSign secure server architecture for Web applications with thousands of remote, one-time signers. MAXIMUS also made extensive use of the CoSign API, SAPI®, for user administration and form handling and signing." says Rodd Schlerf, Sales Manager, ARX.
