Leumi-Card, a wholly owned subsidiary of Israel's Bank Leumi Group, has chosen ARX's PrivateServer HSM technology to enable the secure migration of a new smart card-based Payment Card system.
Credit card issuers and acquirers are moving to the new EMV standard for smart card-based credit cards in order to reduce fraud levels and to comply with Visa International and Mastercard International regulations.
"PrivateServer is ARX’s highly secure (FIPS-validated), HSM solution," says Gadi Aharoni, CEO, ARX, a global provider of digital signature and data security solutions. "Our HSM solution can secure the entire life-cycle of EMV cards, including the card personalization process, card issuance, online authorization, risk management systems and more."
PrivateServer has the high cost performance capabilities the HSM market needs for card processing applications. It can support, depending on the environment, more than 2000 typical card transactions per second, an important feature for financial companies with high volume card usage.
In addition, Leumi-card was looking for an HSM solution that could easily replace a number of old, iSnadaptable HSM solutions, as well as support EMV applications on multiple platforms including: Windows, Unix and Mainframe MVS.
Commenting on the solution, Itai Sela, EMV Project Manager, Leumi-card, says, "PrivateServer gives Leumi-card the ability to interface with variety of partners and solutions to provide a complete, highly secure, EMV system capable of easily meeting emerging standards such as EMV and EMVCAP.

ARX PrivateServer HSM is already in use in financial applications worldwide including Setefi of the Intesa Banking Group, Polcard, Cetrel, G&D Spain and Getronics, among others. |
