CoSign 2.1 Provides Non-Forgeable Graphical Signatures and Novell/NDS Support

Houston, TX, Nov 10, 2003

ARX, a leading provider of electronic-signature applications, today announced the release of CoSign 2.1, which includes new and enhanced capabilities to provide non-forgeable graphical signatures and full Novell/NDS support.

CoSign allows the graphical image of the handwritten signature to be immediately inserted in documents or forms. The insertion of the hand-written signature into the electronic document provides an intuitive user-indication that the document is signed. Such graphical signatures are supported in various applications such as MS-Word and Adobe Acrobat.

The digital signature cannot be duplicated, altered or tampered with, ensuring a secure and reliable solution. The combination of graphical and electronic signatures provides a visual indication that the user is accustomed to. Any alterations conducted after the document has been signed will immediately revoke the validity of the signature and document content. Sealing the document with CoSign, preserves data integrity and provides proof of the signer identity.

CoSign 2.1 enhanced capabilities provides customers with a large selection of applications to work with which include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Coral Word Perfect, and Web applications.

The new version also offers full Novell/NDS support, which enables Novell users to embed electronic signatures into their workflow environment without any management overhead. CoSign 2.1 already supports other user-directories.

The latest CoSign version provides a unique feature that enables users to share their signing keys within a group of users. This feature allows members of various departments to sign in the name of the department, or organization, rather than as an individual user.

“We are pleased to bring to market CoSign 2.1, which offers an innovative, real-time electronic-signature solution, designed to meet with customer’s requirements.” said Motty Alon, Vice President of Marketing, ARX. “CoSign’s signature acts as a document seal, preventing any intrusion of information, guarantees data integrity, and non-repudiation of transactions. Electronic transactions such as e-invoicing and workflow applications are continuously growing , however the electronic process cannot be completed with handwritten signatures. With CoSign 2.1 electronic transactions can be signed digitally, eliminating the costs and time spent on printing, mailing, and archiving. Deploying CoSign provides organizations with an immediate ROI and a simple to use electronic-signature solution. Our core focus is to provide organizations with the most effective and value for money electronic-signature solution, allowing a smooth transition to a paperless environment.”

CoSign was launched in January 2003 and has already been successfully installed in many organizations worldwide.
