Algorithmic Research (ARX), a leading worldwide provider of electronic signatures and data security solutions, has launched a free CoSignet Electronic Signature service.
CoSignet is a clientless electronic signature solution that works through a web browser to apply a strong, standard, PKI digital signature and a graphical signature onto PDF and Word files. The inclusion of these two formats, allows any user to electronically sign documents, without investing in costly and complex digital signature systems.
Using electronic signatures, users may do away with the handwritten signature process, sealing documents with CoSignet's legally-binding electronic signatures, saving on costs and time associated with paper-based processes
From the outset, CoSignet is designed to be a user-friendly application, easily accessible by any web browser. To sign a Word or PDF document, a user logs into their account and uploads a document to be signed from their computer. Once the document has been electronically signed & sealed by CoSignet, it is emailed to the user.
“For the first time, users will be able to access a free electronic signature solution via the internet at any time or place to sign Word and PDF documents," says Ramel Levin, Marketing Manager, ARX. “Users may at any time add a graphical signature to their profile when signing.”
Powered by ARX’s CoSign®, a powerful electronic signature appliance, CoSignet's electronic signatures are based on PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), a mature and proven technology which ensures signer authenticity, data integrity and non-repudiation of documents.
CoSignet enables any kind of company to sign documents. These include:
- Small companies with one or two signers that cannot afford to invest in a solution that typically costs thousands of dollars;
- Companies that have thousands of signers and don’t want to go through a complex process to install a system throughout the company; and
- Companies that want partners, suppliers and others outside of the company to electronically sign documents without having to force them to install any additional software on their computers.
"Previously these companies had to invest in complex security and management systems. CoSignet overcomes the obstacles encountered by anyone seeking a simple electronic signature solution,” Levin concludes.
