ARX (Algorithmic Research), a leading provider of data security solutions, has released PrivateServerTM version 4.7.2. The new version of the PrivateServerTM HSM (hardware security module) features new and improved hardware that provides superior performance and stability, and is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 approved.
PrivateServerTM HSM provides a secure environment for data encryption, Pin Mailer printing and secure application execution. It also conducts sensitive cryptographic operations, secure key storage, and management of a large number of keys. This is ideal for financial institutions, card issuers, and governmental organizations that require security-related deployments such as the CA Signing Engine and PIN verification.
The upgraded PrivateServerTM includes full support for Windows 64-bit operating systems and Windows 7, and features accessibility by all basic modules and native APIs from 64-bit processes. In addition, it supports authentication of smart cards and software tokens, as well as load balancing.
Another feature offered with PrivateServerTM version 4.7.2 is support for Microsoft CAs running on Windows 2008 R2 servers, with PrivateServerTM as the signing engine. The new version also includes a Key Storage Provider (KSP) that provides support for applications that use the CAPI New Generation (CNG) API.
“We’re excited to develop products that continue to meet the tightest security regulations,” explains Gadi Aharoni, CEO, ARX. “In doing so, we meet our current and future clients’ crucial and developing needs.”
