CoSign, NextDocs to Drive Life Sciences Industry Compliance and Process Optimization

Pleasant Hill, CA - 9 January, 2007

Algorithmic Research (ARX), a leading worldwide provider of standards based electronic signatures and data security solutions, and NextDocs, a document management software provider for life sciences and other regulatory environments, today announced a new integrated product that combines CoSign® electronic signature solution with NextDocs document management solution.

The integrated product offering enables businesses operating in regulatory environments to manage processes and compliance in a unified solution while reducing the cost and complexity of compliance.

The new solution will drive down the cost and complexity of compliance by reducing or eliminating printing, copying, faxing, mailing and archiving associated with manual paper-based processes. In addition, approval process is accelerated because documents are securely electronically signed and routed, enabling collaboration across corporate, technical and geographic boundaries.

"We determined standard PKI-(Public Key Infrastructure) based digital signatures were the most secure and widely accepted solution for regulatory compliance,” said Zikria Syed, CEO of NextDocs. “In addition, CoSign provided a high-level API (SAPI®) for our web application integration, and virtually zero system administration once deployed."

The integrated offering manages and automates SOP and work instruction approvals, training requirements associated with SOPs, and project specific processes related to GxP, computer system validation, FDA and vendor audits.

“NextDocs delivers documents to a dispersed user community via a web-based application. With CoSign, electronically signed documents become portable electronic records,” says Rodd Schlerf, Life Science Practice Manager of ARX. “These records may be easily routed in order to verify the signer’s identity and authenticity, and validate the document’s integrity without using proprietary hardware or software. “

Schlerf adds that CoSign’s ability to cost effectively setup and generate standard electronic signatures combined with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 web interface enables a NextDocs architecture that serves today’s dispersed and mobile users in the life sciences industry.
