Digital Signatures Keep Processes Moving at Black & Veatch

Professionals in Black & Veatch’s Telecommunications Division use CoSign® digital signatures.

San Francisco, California April 20, 2011

ARX, a leading provider of digital signature solutions, has implemented the CoSign digital signature solution at Black & Veatch, a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company. CoSign is being used by electrical, civil and structural engineers in Black & Veatch’s Telecommunications Division.

“The telecommunications industry is very fast paced and high volume,” explains Chris Krafft, Chief Engineer, Telecommunications Division, Black & Veatch. “We’re producing a lot of deliverables and there is a lot of paperwork moving around. Digital signatures enable our engineers to sign drawings and other documents while traveling or working remotely and keep the workflow going.”

Engineers and employees from other departments at Black & Veatch are also using CoSign digital signatures to digitally sign Microsoft® Word documents instead of converting them to PDF. In the Quality team, for example, professionals are using CoSign to sign off on compliance and other documents.

“The results Black & Veatch is achieving with CoSign shows what can happen when engineers embrace a technology that is specifically designed to meet their most crucial needs,” says Rodd Schlerf, VP of Sales, ARX. “This is another indicator of the growing acceptance of digital signatures in engineering and of the reasons why engineers are turning to paperless approvals to begin with. It’s very exciting."
