Digital Signature Solution from ARX Advances Signatures for PDF

ARX's (Algorithmic Research) CoSign® digital signature solution permits users to digitally sign PDF documents without additional software or hardware tokens.

San Francisco, California, November 19, 2008

ARX (Algorithmic Research), a leading provider of digital signature (standard electronic signature) solutions, announced today that its CoSign solution now supports the Adobe® Signature Service Protocol (ASSP), allowing users of digital signature features from Adobe to sign Adobe-enabled PDF forms without additional desktop software or user-token installations. The CoSign appliance provides organizations with a highly secure and scalable FIPS 140-2 level 3 certified solution that centrally and seamlessly manages signature credentials (i.e., keys and certificates) for all users in the network.

"The CoSign approach represents a cost-effective digital signature solution that eliminates the requirement for client-side signature keys and tokens and translates into many operational and logistics efficiencies for our customers," said John Landwehr, Director of Security Solutions and Strategy at Adobe. "The ease with which users can deploy and utilize CoSign with Acrobat or Reader without plug-ins, and then get the benefits of hardware security without personal-hardware tokens, makes it a great complement to Adobe LiveCycle ES deployments."

With features such as centralized directory-driven key management, interfaces to multiple enterprise user-management, and authentication systems, CoSign is a solution that has an extremely low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for signature-dependent processes. CoSign’s secure centralized-server approach to managing signature credentials allows organizations to cost-effectively satisfy the regulatory and corporate audit requirements governing their automated business processes.

"The combination of the LiveCycle ES business process management platform and CoSign’s secure and convenient end-user digital signatures is a great choice for streamlining forms-driven business processes," said John Marchioni, VP Business Development, Americas at ARX. “When organizations deploy Adobe LiveCycle ES and users make digital signing via CoSign a routine activity, they gain speed and convenience and can fully automate business processes with the proper controls.”
