U.S. PE Board e-Submission Regulations Guidelines Released by ARX

ARX Inc., a leading provider of digital signature solutions for the AEC industry has recently released its much anticipated PE Board Regulation map, which highlights the status of e-submission regulations among Professional Engineering Boards in each of the fifty U.S. states. The map also comes complete with e-submission guidelines for each state. The last publically available compilation of PE board regulations was published in 2005 and there has been significant progress since then, as additional states now accept digitally signed e-submissions. This updated publication offers a valuable resource as an increasing number of AEC firms adopt digital signatures as a business automation tool.

Digital signatures in Engineering play a valuable role as enablers of significantly expedited business processes. AEC firms in particular are commonly victims to paper-based delays due to geographically dispersed and often traveling engineers among which drawings must be routed in order to obtain required authorizations. With digital signatures that support professional stamps and seals, engineering drawings and documents can remain electronic, eliminating the costly and time-consuming hassle of printing, manually routing, wet signing, and archiving paper documents. With the vast majority of states now accepting digitally signed e-submissions, drawings can remain electronic at all stages, for the entire project cycle.

With the PE Board Regulation map and guidelines now available to the public, Engineering organizations can easily and sufficiently obtain the information they need on the legislation and regulations pertaining to the legality of digital signatures across the U.S.
