CoSign Standard Electronic Signatures are a New Addition to Laserfiche Repository and Workflow Solution
Laserfiche Institute Conference - Los Angeles, California January 17, 2008
ARX (Algorithmic Research), a leading global provider of standard digital signature solutions, and Laserfiche®, a developer of powerful electronic document management systems (EDMS), today announced the release of CoSign® for Laserfiche. CoSign for Laserfiche will allow Laserfiche users to replace handwritten signatures with legally-binding digital signatures for electronic documents within the Laserfiche records-management and workflow environment. This announcement is made as Laserfiche hosts the 2008 Laserfiche Institute Conference for its value-added resellers (VARs) and users, who will be experiencing the benefits of CoSign for Laserfiche first-hand.
Through CoSign for Laserfiche, users gain access to technology that can sign, seal, and route documents for verification anywhere. This new capacity allows for expediting business processes and reducing costs, while maintaining document integrity and complying with regulations. Moreover, CoSign for Laserfiche supports all major applications and file formats including PDF, Microsoft® Word, Excel®, Outlook®, TIFF, InfoPath® and many more.
Standard electronic signatures, when used with good record-keeping practices, ensure audit and regulatory compliance. CoSign for Laserfiche enables compliance with regulations worldwide, including the U.S. FDA 21 CFR Part 11, US E-Sign and UETA acts, and the EU Directive for Electronic Signatures. Once a document is signed, the signer cannot deny her/his electronic signature and the document has legal effect.
"CoSign for Laserfiche is being launched specifically to meet a growing demand for electronic document and record’s integrity in internal and cross-organizational business processes," said John Marchioni, VP of Business Development, Americas, ARX.
Commenting on the relationship, Marchioni continued, "Deployment of the CoSign Digital-Signature technology by Laserfiche is yet another proof point that standard digital signature solutions can be flexible and feature rich, while also affordable and easy to use." Marchioni concluded by stating, "It is important for ARX to partner with such an exceptional leader in document management technology. With Laserfiche on our team, we are now better positioned to meet the dynamic IT requirements of an even broader community of businesses and government agencies worldwide."
"After our investigation of the field of electronic-signature solutions, we chose to partner with ARX for their extensive experience and track record in delivering solutions that are easy to deploy and manage, and yet are among the most secure," stated Tom Wayman, Director of Product Strategy, Laserfiche. "With this new quick-to-learn and easy-to-deploy electronic-signature capability, the Laserfiche platform further enables our customers to eliminate wasted time and manpower, while optimizing their business operations, and in doing so we expect they will see a positive impact to their bottom-line operating costs and profits within several months of deployment."
